Butter Scientifically Proven To Last Three Weeks Out Of The Refrigerator
This butter tastes great at 2 weeks out of the refrigerator

Our great butter debate has been going on for quite some time. Can you really keep butter out on the counter for two weeks? How about longer?
We have tried it. We keep butter in a covered glassed container (pictured above). The longest we kept the butter was just shy of three weeks. The butter was soft and very meltable. Easy to spread too. After nearly three weeks (the stick we kept was usually gone by then) the butter tasted fine with no signs of becoming spoiled. The taste was "buttery."
So, just how long can you keep butter out of the refrigerator? Well, this study says you can keep it out for up to three weeks. Joell Martzel, of Butterie had "a food safety lab in California run some (well, many) tests, and found out that butter kept at room temperature can stay on the counter, no problem, for three weeks without refrigeration."
All we can say is science got it right. Find out more about this interesting fact from Southern Living.
